Relationships

When we think of our relationships, we often forget that our starting point is the primary relationship to ourselves. There are many different aspects to ourselves, like personalities, which are drawn out to meet the needs of different situations. To complicate things more, we each have within us interactions between our thoughts, feelings and impulses which, at times of stress or overwhelm, can get out of balance. At such times we may feel unhappy with ourselves which can cause problems in our relationship to our partner or spouse. And equally, a difficult relationship with our partner can impact badly on our otherwise good sense of self.
